Psalm 19

The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above[a] proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
Their voice[b] goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
In them he has set a tent for the sun,
    which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber,
and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
Its rising is from the end of the heavens,
and its circuit to the end of them,
and there is nothing hidden from its heat.

The law of the Lord is perfect,[c]
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules[d] of the Lord are true,
and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can discern his errors?
Declare me innocent from hidden faults.
13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins;
let them not have dominion over me!
Then I shall be blameless,
and innocent of great transgression.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Just like there is nothing that can stop the sun from traveling its path across the heavens, there is nothing that can stop God from carrying out His purposes. Just like the heavens are orderly, God is orderly.

Verses 7 – 11 are God’s revelation through Scripture. As we prayerfully and carefully approach the Word of God, we discover that on these pages are truth and rules that don’t bog us down, but lift us up. They are sweet and our lives are blessed as we follow them.

Verses 12 – 14 are our response to all that God has revealed about Himself. With a sense of awe we should reflect on our lives against God’s standards, and then ask for forgiveness and restoration appropriately.

Camping is a powerful tool for beginning, refreshing, or growing our relationship with God because: at camp we are surrounded by God’s creation; most likely we are challenged to read and think about scripture more than we do at home; we are outside of our normal activities and schedules and we have more time to reflect and make a decision.

hammockCamp Wyoba is a Christian Camp on Casper Mountain, centrally located in Wyoming. We offer a men’s retreat in June, youth camps in July, and a young adult and women’s retreat in August. Camp Wyoba is a pretty rustic camp, and we don’t have horses, lakes, or zip lines. However, our camp is blessed with the presence of the Spirit, and many lives have been changed over the 84 years we have been doing ministry.

If you would like more information about attending a camp at Wyoba, you can go to wyoba.org, email wyoba@abcrm.org, or call 307-234-6240.

Respectfully submitted,

We would like to build a few play areas around the camp. Do you have any old tires laying around, a playground set, slide, or swings you would be willing to donate to us? We would also like to add some benches, landscaping, and special features. Do you have an old waterfall or water feature you no longer use? Any wagon wheels, planters, whiskey barrels, or rustic lawn features you are willing to part with? Here are a few of the ideas that we would like to do at Wyoba:

Day 21!!! We have arrived!

Prayer point: Thank the Lord for all the ways that He has used camp and will continue to use camp!

It is hard to believe that we have made it to the end of the 21 days of prayer and fasting. We will end the fast tonight at midnight. I am not sure about you, but I have experienced a lot of answered prayers over the past 21 days! Today and in the following days, please take time to thank God for the incredible ministry of Camp Wyoba and all the ways that He is using it to impact our world! Also, please do not stop praying and doing occasional fasts for Wyoba as you feel led.

The idea of doing this prayer and fasting for 21 days is that it takes approximately that long to create or break a habit. It is my hope and prayer that you have gotten into the habit of praying faithfully everyday and that that habit will continue for the rest of your life. I cannot tell you how much richer your life will be when you are constantly in connection and communicating intimately with our God!

For the next week or so, I plan to share each day a new answered prayer that God has granted Wyoba. Please, please, please share what your answered prayers have been and how God has been leading you over the past 21 days!

Prayer: Thank You Lord, for an amazing 21 days! Thank You for all the ways that You have shown up and have heard each and everyone’s prayers and petitions for Wyoba! You are so perfect in all Your ways and may You get an abundance of glory, honor, and praise as a result of the past 21 days and in all the days to come! Amen.

God is so good,

Day 20 of 21

Prayer point: New opportunities (retreats, camps, outreaches, etc.) for Camp Wyoba to be a part of

Every year Camp Wyoba gets to serve a variety of people and groups. We need to continue to be in prayer about new opportunities for us to be a part of and ways that we can make a greater impact for Christ. This summer we are hosting a family picnic for people who have had loved ones donate organs to save someone’s life. This is a very unique group of people, but how cool is that? These families will probably be experiencing grief as a result of losing a loved one or be dealing with a loss of an organ that they gave to someone. I think that Wyoba is just the place for them to come because God says that He is near to the brokenhearted and we know that the Holy Spirit will be close to them at camp. Both the Wyoba staff and the Holy Spirit will have the opportunity to minister to them even if they do not realize it.

Opportunity

Recently, I have had conversations with one of the directors at Uplands Reach Camp and Conference Center located in Millers Creek, North Carolina. He would like to possibly host a football or baseball camp at Wyoba. They would also like to build a partnership with us. We are not sure what that looks like or how it would work, but God is working on something.

We have also put together a committee to plan an event called, “JesusFest.” This would be a Christian music event with vendors, kids games, and a worship service. There is a lot of potential for growth, unity, and exposure. This event is still in the works, but we are hoping to pull it off in the next few years.

These are all amazing opportunities that could grow Camp Wyoba. Please keep these things in your prayers and if you know of possible partnerships to look into, let me know.

Praying for a greater impact,

Rev. Amber J. Shearer

Day 19 of 21

Day 19. T-minus 2 days!

Prayer point: Wyoba 500 (500 people giving $100/year to camp to cover 2016 expenses)

Wyoba 500 Logo

If you have not yet heard about Wyoba 500 let me tell you a little bit about it. Cynthia Rigsby of Gillette, Wyoming created this campaign. We are trying to get 500 people to give $100 a year to Camp Wyoba to help cover our debt to ABCRM and this year’s operating expenses. Camp Wyoba currently has a loan debt to ABCRM for $162,124 from over the past six years of operating expenses. We are extremely blessed that ABCRM has been willing to keep us financially afloat and allow us to keep this ministry going. However, we need your help!

If you have not yet considered giving $100 or more this year, would you? Please be praying that this campaign would be effective and that would could exceed 500 donors! I believe that God can do big things, but we must be proactive in getting the word out and doing our part.

Prayer: Gracious God, we know that this debt is large to humanly standards, but we also know that You are greater! We come before You and humbly ask that You would raise up people to financially support Wyoba and help us with our operating costs. Thank You for the opportunity to trust You to supply our needs even when it is difficult. Thank You beyond words for providing in the past, even now through the support of ABCRM, and Thank You in advance for how You are going to supply for our needs! Amen.

Petitioning God for the 500,

Rev. Amber J. Shearer
